Termite 2.9

Install:No Install Support

Publisher's Description:

Termite - Termite is an easy to use and easy to configure RS232 terminal. It uses an interface similar to that of "messenger" or "chat" programs, with a large window for all received data and an edit line for typing in strings to transmit. Highlights of the utility are the ease of installation (possibly with pre-configured settings) using a heuristic search for the appropriate COM port, plug-in support and, as was mentioned, its user-friendliness. Other features are port forwarding (for monitoring communication between two devices), text search, printing support, and edit history (of text that you typed) and using different colours to distinguish transmitted text from received text.

Great terminal program. I just needed somthing simple to look at a GPS output stream and Termite did this without fuss.
Thoroughly recommended.

Ok for what it does -- "IM" send/receive of _ASCII_ text over an rs232 connection.

Would be much more useful if one could switch between ASCII and hex representations of the data being transmitted or received-- or, better yet, show them side by side.

I am using Termite to see what data an Oregon Scientific Weather station is outputting so I can log and decode it. Oregon don't support it anymore even though it is a top of the range mid 1990s model.

I must say I am impressed with Termite. So far it was easy - got hex data - now I just have to figure out how to log it and then decode it.

Thanks very much for making Termite freely available. I was having trouble reading the RS232 output from my picaxe 18x and Termite worked perfectly pretty much straight away...thanks!

Very easy to use tool. I use it to test the RS232 communication between measurement devices and computers (no administration rights). It works as a portable app by installing it on a computer and then copying the the installed directory to an USB stick.

nice simple program but I can't figure out how to send hex values via a file. I tried all types of formats, but I could get this to work. I would like to send a text file like 0xaa 0x5 0xbb and have those hex values sent.

Very easy to use. It would be interesting if it had buttons to send the same data just by pressing the buton.
